I guess the purpose of this blog, like many other family-oriented blogs out there, starts out as an avenue for parents like myself to journal memories and milestones of one’s family, especially with young kids in tow, so that somewhere down the road when the kids have reached peak adolescence and deem us as uncool old farts, me and my wife can still fire up this blog to reminisce about the good old days.

You know, times when these adolescents were once babies who cried every 2 hours asking to be fed, carried or for no reason at all; times when it took 1 hour (including that mandatory 45 minutes required to chase them around the house with a spoon) to feed them dinner; times when we wished our kids stopped asking ‘Why’ for the 2,156th time of the day so that we can have that mythical 1 minute of peace.

Yes, those times will end as every year passes before our eyes. And in time to come the tables will be turned on us.

We will be calling our kids every 2 hours asking if they are hungry or need anything at all.
We will be silently praying that family meals last a little longer than the 5 minutes that teenagers wolf down their food in.
We will be hoping our kids never stop talking to us. Peace is overrated.

As 2016 dawns upon us, let us reflect back on the past year and look forward to the next one.

Work hard, play hard, live a healthy and happy life, and most importantly, love your family.

Happy New Year!
